About ICCD
Founded in partnership with the Anglican Church of Uganda, ICCD walks alongside refugees, women and children in the places that need it most.
Background
ICCD is an indigenous, faith-based humanitarian and development NGO officially registered with the NGO Board of Uganda under Reg. No. R4028403NB. We focus on those who often go unnoticed — marginalised mothers, adolescents, children and families living inside refugee settlements, IDP camps, post-conflict regions and rural communities across Uganda.
Our work spans health, education, social welfare, livelihoods and life-skills development. We confront the impact of HIV & AIDS alongside our development partners, and advocate for gender equity, peace and holistic development.
Within the refugee response, we focus on women, adolescent girls and youth aged 10–26 — recognising that women and adolescents bear the brunt of adversity while acting as primary caregivers within host communities.

Mission
To empower children, young mothers, refugees and other vulnerable groups in underserved communities to access rights-based healthcare, education and economic opportunities — for better health outcomes and improved quality of life.
Goal
Promote holistic post-conflict development; train diverse refugees in income-generating activities; and partner with NGOs to create safe spaces for women, youth and children.
Guiding Principles
From child protection to non-discrimination, these principles anchor how we design and deliver our work.
In all matters concerning children, the well-being of vulnerable children is the paramount consideration in every programme we design.
Every person is entitled to the highest standard of living and the chance to thrive — regardless of religion, tribe or race.
People must be protected from all forms of abuse, violence and exploitation. We design interventions that address the root causes.
We design programmes with the communities we serve so that they play a leading role in their own transformation.
ICCD serves all regardless of race, religion or ethnicity — guided by the principle of non-discrimination.
Guided by Matthew 25:35-36 — "I was hungry and you gave me something to eat" — we build equal and dynamic partnerships rooted in love.
